NextGen Railway Footbridges
For the first time in Network Rail history, the NextGen Railway Footbridges are made public via ARki app, where each design is brought to life in Augmented Reality.
The project demonstrates the first four typologies of a new generic catalogue of future footbridges, each with its own unique character and scalability, and highlighting the significance of great design and engineering across UK rail infrastructure. By using Augmented Reality, Network Rail are focussed on communicating future architectural projects with the general public, helping to democratise the way our cities are designed and constructed, and allowing the public to be actively involved from the early stages of the design selection all the way to construction.
